Back To My Roots

Back To My Roots is the third chapter in Vincenzo Grieco’s artistic journey, following the vocal albums Misleading Lights of Town and Outer Space.
Here, the guitar returns as the absolute protagonist in a work that blends technique, heart, and powerful atmospheres, ranging from adrenaline-fueled hard & heavy to intimate blues, all the way to cinematic shades.

"If you like various types of guitar albums, especially focused on heavy shredding, this release is entirely for you. The musician has packed almost the best of this style into this work... The album is full of magnificent tracks, inspired by over a dozen famous guitarists worldwide... Joe Satriani, Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen... Everything is played with such penetrating grace that your soul will want to both rejoice and cry at the same time... It’s been a long time since a guitar album came out that I’d want to listen to again and again... Recommended to everyone who simply loves the good and the true."

Italian and international press agree:

Metal Shock Finland calls it “a masterpiece... an album that will completely overwhelm you! For those who love the six-string, it’s truly an album that can’t be missing from your collection.”
Fano24.it: “For those who love the six-string, Back To My Roots is an album that cannot be missing from their personal collection.”
Italia di Metallo: “It sounds very Eighties... the opening of ‘Back To My Heavy Roots’ is a clear homage to Steve Vai... sweeping during the solo is expertly done... very passionate and touching is the very slow ‘Mama’... ‘Nilufar’ seems perfect as the soundtrack of an American mid-80s film.”

Back To My Roots is a love declaration to the guitar: powerful riffs, precisely sculpted solos, melodies that speak directly to the heart. A sonic journey that brings you back to the roots of epic, uncompromising guitar playing.
